That "anxiety hangover" is the pits, I know. I get a low mood/hopeless feeling afterwards sometimes. I think that low feeling afterwards also dredges up sad things from our past- past hurts like losing/missing parents, regrets, etc. I know for me, I get depression if the anxiety goes on for too long untreated.
Are you in therapy by chance or taking any medications? It sounds like you could really benefit from seeing a therapist. Anxiety is a viscous cycle that makes us OCD about things like our breathing, pulse, etc. it's treatable but challenging to do on our own that's why most of us here are in therapy, take meds or do both.
