Hi GWA and welcome!
I am so sorry to hear of all that you are dealing with at the moment in terms of your anxiety, school/social issues...and most of all your grandfather.:(
These are all difficult things to be trying to navigate, so know that we understand and care.
I am glad to read that you are currently seeking your doctors help for managing your anxiety. The meds you are starting should start to help soon...
...however, I am wondering if you are also looking to start a therapy program as well, to really round out your treatment?
If not, I would encourage you to look into this as a possibility. I, and many others here have benefitted so much from therapy.:)
For now, I have pulled a bunch of links from our Resources here for you. These are free and accessible self-help ideas that could really make a difference in how you feel.
The first is the link for the whole collection. You'll find help for shutting down a panic attack, relaxation coping skillls, and more here.
