It's a Xanax kinda night....

I've been trying to repeat that if I'm not afraid of my panic, my panic has no power, but unfortunately I lost the battle tonight. I was so short of breath for so long that I caved and took 2 xanax. I think I'm overwhelmed because I have severe stomach pain and tomorrow morning is my GI appointment. For those who pray, I'd appreciate some prayers for a good outcome and some peace in my heart. For those who don't pray....send me your best wishes. I'm so scared for tomorrow.

I think that you are dealing with a situational acute anxiety...you have been sick for a while, and this is understandable!

In other words, don't beat yourself up. Try using phrases such as "I chose to manage my anxiety" rather than "I caved" in relation to taking your Rx...

...this is what it is for, and you use it responsibly.

You're doing the best that you can, so be patient with yourself and the process!

You are going to feel much better after your appointment, and getting some answers.

Friends- I'm feeling the anxiety tonight too! Not panic but that disconnect/derealization/!!? (It's so hard to explain) feeling. It's been upsetting. No trigger. Just happens randomly.

With that being said, I'm going to go pray for all of us, including you park for results that are helpful one way or the other & for peace in your heart.

does anyone find they get headaches if you take xannax several days in a row? I seem to....I'm thinking of asking for something else but I want something like it- not an AD to take every day. They don't agree with me- makes my anxiety worse and gives libido problems.

I know exactly how you're feeling, Park....I'm awaiting a doc appt soon and I haven't been in years so I'm terrified what they'll find. I guess we just accept that we're going to be fearful but somehow, some way, we work through it and usually find that there's nothing going on that's not treatable. That's the best we can do but I certainly understand the fear you're going through because I'm experiencing the same thing. Hate to age myself, but Franklin Roosevelt's quote was so true "The only fear we have is fear itself." It takes us over and makes us always imagine and predict the worse scenario. But we keep praying, not only for a good outcome, but for the strength we need to get us through this. I'm with you all the way....I'm sure you'll be fine and I'll be calling on your soon for some great support again for my upcoming appts. I love this "interactive" therapy!

Hi All,

Hoping everyone got some rest last night. I slept ok until about 5am when......my husband woke up with diarrhea and throwing up!!!!! Ahhhhhh!!!! I am freaking out about stomach flu! Now I have to admit, my skinny little hubby is known for eating to the point where he is ill at some point and he ate soooo much yesterday, so it's possible, but he can't even keep fluids down now, so we aren't sure.

As for me, I saw the GI doc this morning and he agrees that he thinks it's a very intense flare up of IBS due to the trauma of the summer/fall events that I am still trying to work through. However, because I was in such hardcore antibiotics, he wants me to have a colonoscopy to be sure it's not anything else. I got very lucky and he had a cancellation for next Friday. I'm nervous only because of the possibility of something going wrong, but I'm not nervous to be put under or anything like that. This may sound funny, but I enjoy a little twilight sedation. It's the only time where my mind isn't somehow getting in my way and I'm just knocked out! Can't have anxiety when you're under sedation!! ;-)

Anyway, just praying my husband doesn't have stomach flu and if he does, that my son and I don't get it!

I completely agree. Sometimes the anxiety or little panic attacks confuse me because I don't think I'm anxious about anything, but then when it comes up, if I stop and think about it I can figure out what must've really been bothering me.
