Day 22 on Lexapro 20mg - Still have a lot of Anxiety

I would say in the mornings I'm at a 5-7. And it usually fades down to a 4-5 around 2pm. Then around 7pm I'm at a 3. CBT is somewhat talk therapy. We talk about what my thoughts are and what makes me anxious. And she then advises on what to say to myself or counteract with good thoughts or to nip the issue in the bud. Example.... My thought ... I feel terrible , why do I? Will I feel like this forever? ... My counter thought... Anxiety comes and goes, it takes time, I've beat this before , i feel better now than I did 3 months ago..:
I'm not a pro at this or a doctor or even in a position to give advice, but you are no where close to the therapudic time frame of 6-8 weeks on 20mgs. Not sure why you would go to 30 already. I'm at week 4 1/2 on 10mg and am sleeping better, eating better , feel better in evenings, I actually answer the phone when it rings now, I eat dinner out here n there. So these are thing I try to focus on. I'm not 100% but I do see improvements. Kolonopin or Xanax I take only when I needed. Not daily. It makes me real clumsy and groggy and weird feeling.

Leno, thanks for sharing your experience. 5-7 is pretty uncomfortable. How do you deal with it. I would say I am at 2-3 and maybe a 4 in the mornings and at 0 in the evenings. I do work, but have a very hard time concentrating at work. It is certainly not how I would like to live the rest of my life. I would say I was at level 0 at most times before this episode about 7 months ago, so I am not used to being anxious and feel hopeless as these months have gone by and I have seen a very slow but postive improvement. I am not sure how much longer I have to deal with this.

I feel like this whole thing has impacted me a lot, brought my mood down, made me not want to hate the holidays etc...
Just for clarity on how you are feeling, at levels 5-7, I would have a hard time sitting still. I would feel a big ball in my chest and grab for Klonopin. Is that how your 5-7 is?
At levels 2-3, I feel like I am not comfortable, but I can still function and talk on the phone and go to work, attend meeting at work etc...
But I am not relaxed by any means at levels of 2-3. In the evenings, level 0 is totally relaxing, I can sit on the couch while talking on the phone etc... Just trying to see if your level 3 is the same as my level 3.

Thank Leno, I agree with you. I do take Klonopin on daily basis, 1-1.25mg. I decided that I was going to increase the Klonopin to 1.25 from 1.0mg on daily basis, take 0.75mg in the morning and hope that Lexapro will do its job within the next few weeks.
As I mentioned, when I felt fine for a stretch of 6-7 days two weeks ago, I felt at level 0-1 with no need for Klonopin. It felt good knowing that this is coming to an end. But we will both get there again and feel those days again, except this time, it will last.
Are you starting to feel better now that it is around 4:00 pm central?
One strange thing about this whole issue is that it leaves a bit of PTSD behind. I feel like my life will go back to be comfortable again, but I might not be my old self for a while until I have good days again for long period of time. You?

I had a good day today as well, not sure if it is because of the Klonopin schedule change or not. So we shall celebrate this day :)

Yes got stuff done, wasn't thinking irrationally , no bad thoughts, exercised today. I live in Texas. I'm glad you felt better today! Try not to think why or figure it out just roll with it

I have good news . My wife went to dinner with a good old friend last night . In the middle of dinner her friend confessed that she had anxiety and told my wife that she was on Lexapro and she feels awesome ! She said it took her 3 months to feel really good! How ironic !

Ditto on the sleep. Felt like it was very light sleep. Almost like I between sleep and awake type feeling. Slept better from 9:30-12:30 then from there on it was awkward.

Btw, do you what your wife's friend's dose is?

Lexa good morning. Sorry I didn't post yesterday. I'm feeling ok . Yesterday was my best day yet! Today so far so good. I'm hoping it continues. I feel energy . Very low low anxiety like a 1 level. And I'm slept well 2 nights in a row. How are you?
