Convinced myself quite a few times today that I'm having a heart attack, debated going the hospital!
Surely heartburn is one of the worst things for someone with health anxiety to have because it feeeeeels awful!! :(
I have posted on the GERD forum asking for some help but had no reply as of yet :( I just want to not be in pain anymore, struggling to breathe because of it...
Feeling very crappy right now!!

You have a reply over there.
I agree with getting a PPI over the counter in the meantime.

Hi John
I've just seen it, thanks :)
I don't know if we can get them over the counter over here but I'll go to the pharmacy tomorrow to see :)

CT,
In the states, there is omeprazole, etc.
In the meantime, avoid trigger foods. Stay upright a few hours after eating.

I'm in the UK so not sure if it works the same... Will try though :)
Thanks for the tips! :)

Omeprazole works really well for me. Stops my heartburn completely but does make me nauseous from time to time. I really have to overdo it to get heartburn by eating tons of trigger foods because I basically have no self control.

I have a prescript
ion for Ranitidine. I think it is generic for Zantac. It works wonders.

idk what anti meds you are on, but I have been on quite a few and all my make my LPR/GERD a lot worse. Also, zantac is probably the best thing to try before ppi. A lot less rebound acid when you decide to come off them.

Thank you all.
I have been on Lansoprazole, but I've just ran out. Need to go back the doctors to get some more.
Just never ever had it this bad, it's torture!
