Hi everyone. I hope you all had an amazing holiday. I did. But today I'm a wreck. Nothing in particular is setting me off I'm just very shakey, shortness of breath and can't calm my thoughts. My head is racing. My husband I had a long talk last night about
our businesses. We own two, one in southern california and one up north. Our store down south is suffering because of the moron that's running it. He's a good guy and would never steal he's just a idiot. He doesn't listen and does what he wants. My husband tore I to him last weekend and he's still doing the same crap. So we are seriously considering closing that store. We also own a house there. I want to sell it and pay off our debt, but his leech of a father is living there. He came here from overseas 4 years ago and won't leave. He doesn't understand he ruined our lives and almost destroyed our marriage. He costs us $4000 dollars a month. If we sell the house he has no where to go and it will turn into a huge family issue. He will probably disown my husband. So we are stuck. I feel so bad for my husband he has the weight of the world on his shoulders and he's so stressed out. I need some calming thoughts today.
Thank you for letting me vent.

Jill,
Fire the guy. You or your husband run it in the interim.
Can't you find your father in law something cheaper? Is he competent? Could he help with the other store?

We can't run it. We live 500 miles away. We could try and find him something cheaper, but we would still end up paying at least $3000 a month because of him. The man is useless. He barely speaks English. He thinks he's doing us a favor by being here. Most of the time I want to hit him with my car. (Don't worry I wont)

Jill,
Family is overrated. Show him the door. He's 52, not 92. Allowing him to stay enables him to be worthless and ultimately does him no favors. Tough love. He's looking out for number one, himself, and so should you.

JF.,
Such a difficult situation! You and your hubs are a united front though, and that is good! Great job on working together.
Tom Papa, one of my favorite comedians, has a bit about
how marriage/family life sometimes ends up feeling like you are working your arses off...in 'some awful non-profit organization'
I hope that you can come to a resolution that takes care of the both of you, your business/property...and your sanity!
Take care of YOU as well!! Make time to decompress.
Thoughts and prayers.

52 is still super young! Is he in good health? If so, it may be time to put your foot down and show him the door...

Thanks everyone. I completely agree that he needs to get the hell out. Unfortunately with my husbands culture it's not that easy. His family will blacklist him. It would turnout so bad. He's stuck right now.

If his family is that blind, why care?

I hear you- cultural differences are very real
Listen to your heart and it's OK for your brain to feel differently.
