I am seeing my dentist right now. I have had an old amalgam filling removed because there was tooth decay under it. I had a new gold filling placed. It has been about 10 days. The first week was like hell because I was experiencing metallic taste in my mouth along with this tingling sensation on my tongue. I suffered so much I was crying every night. I also felt strong fatigue.
I saw my dentist yesterday, and he said it's not common to have a reaction to a gold filling. The tingling sensation is strong at the moment and it looks like my tongue and lips look a little irritated. I do not want to have this gold filling removed. I consulted my dentist and we spent hours deciding what dental filling material would be good for my back tooth. I am just upset that I am having a reaction to this. I have sensitive skin...well I am sensitive all over but I never thought I would have a reaction to a filling. I think my mouth is super sensitive. I can't even drink coke or eat spicy food. (it sucks!)
I am going to have a metal allergy test done next month.
Has anyone had a bad reaction to dental fillings? Or does anyone have metal allergy? What kind of symptoms did you experience and did you have to remove your filling because of the reaction?
