Forgot how bad these start up effects are

Struggling today!

Only on day 3 of my SSRI (Citalopram). I've been taking it at night time because last time I was on it I found I couldn't sleep when I took it in the morning. But this morning I felt really odd, I looked in the mirror and my pupils were huge, I looked wired! Was up every hour through the night too...

Trying to tell myself that it will get better and I just need to power through all this to and come out the other side.

First day back at work today too which doesn't help, considering I've not been able to leave the house for the past week because of this panic!

Anyway... rant over :) Hope you all have a good week!

Stay strong and don't give up fighting. Have a great and productive week and of course without anxiety and panic! Take care and stay positive...

I know it will get better in the long run, just got to put up with feeling crappy for a couple of weeks!

Your determined atttitude will take you far in getting through this rough start up time! ;) Keep up the fight, and use those coping skills!

Hi CT

Sorry to hear you are struggling today it is always a difficult time when starting up a new medication but things should improve soon and if they don't go back and speak with your doctor in the meantime use any coping skills you have to bring the anxiety down and keep posting here we are here for you.

Awwe, sorry you're having a rough go. For what it's worth, Citalopram was amazing for my anxiety and depression. I was on it for 8 amazing years. Hoping the same for you! Stay strong, Lisa

You're not kidding about start up effects. Just remember in a couple of weeks it will hopefully start to reside.

Thank you all for the support, you're all amazing people! :D

SC - First day back wasn't too bad, was extremely tired when I got home though, went straight to bed!

TMA - Been started off on 20mg.. Is that high?

Lisa - Thank you! I've not heard many good stories about Citalopram but that has made me feel a bit more positive about it! :)

Jennings & Hibee - Thank you both, it's nice to speak to so many people that understand how it feels.

I am always tired as well after returning after a break...you'll get your stamina back soon.
