I am thinking of playing hooky tomorrow. We have holidays Friday and Monday. I felt we should have had a snow day today. I about killed myself in the parking lot because it wasn't treated. Since they have no regard for my safety and screwed me on being tardy in December, I think I deserve it. My work is behind, but I don't much care. I'm not cared about. I was off from December 20-January 3. When I blew my tire last week, I was made to use a vacation day. I took the next day off, too. All those days off were vacation that I earned. Would you play hooky? It means five days off. I told my coworker friend whom won't tattle I wouldn't be in.

I work harder than everyone and they don't care. So many slack. I think I deserve it. People are willing to help, but it's like my bosses won't let them.

Absolutely use your sick day and take a 5 day weekend. Sometimes we need a vacation from our vacation, and that's fine. Enjoy it

You were simply letting them know ahead of time of your illness. I say take the day off if you have PTO days left

They don't keep track of sick days really. Just don't abuse it. I still get paid.

It's all gone. Mostly ice in the first place. I said snow day since no one says ice day.

As much as my job sucks and how little I'm valued my work ethic doesn't allow me to take mental health days, sick days or even all my vacation days...but it ends up building up extreme resentment in me which is definitely not healthy.

I'm really pissed off because after giving 200% for the past 8 months during the transition of a new boss coming on after 12 years with a whole new management style which isn't working and has caused me to work non paid OT and bringing work home, he also fired a key player that has now increased my work load and I got a measly 3% raise which equals less than $1 an hr. a meager bonus to which half of it went to taxes!

but I blame myself for not just getting the hell out!
I just don't have the energy to update my resume and then panic about interviews because I am a lifer when it comes to jobs and have only had to interview twice before....the corporate world today are vampires...
I don't even want to work for big business...but then how are you going to make the money you need to survive?

I went and shouldn't have. By the end of the day, my coworkers were being rambunctious with laughter and I was trying to help someone on the phone, yet couldn't hear. My trusted coworker tried to quiet them, but it didn't work. In a rage, I went to my boss's boss and told her the jackals wouldn't quiet down and I had already told them once. Too far? Can I get in trouble for that? Haha

Sorry for the stink of a day. On a positive note....it's over now and tomorrow is Friday. So yay Friday!
