Hi SK.,
How are you feeling now? I have heard of this type of pain before, and believe it or not, it is anxiety related. The tension in the upper body can actually make our scalp/top of the head sore.
Try doing some progressive muscle relaxation, as well as deep breathing, or other method you practice to decompress and feel calm. (if you need links for these let me know, I'll post them for you)
I understand how you are feeling about your upcoming surgery. I would be feeling scare as well. Not because I think you have reason to worry...just because I don't like hospitals/sugeries and the like.
However, I agree with Storm Lover! My dad had his gallbladder removed a couple of months ago...and he did GREAT! It is a routine procedure for the doctors, and you will do really well, I am sure.
Keep posting so we can keep you in support at this time.
S.C.
