Does anyone suffer with thrush?
If any of you have you will understand the situation I am in right now sad
I currently can't walk and need some help on treating it before I lose my mind!

Will literally try anything as it's been a week now and I've been off work today because of it!

Also, I took an oral tablet for it today (Fluconazole) and I took it before looking at interactions with Citalopram.. apparently can cause irregular heart beats, I've been fine all day but does anyone think it will affect me long term?

The interaction will not affect you long term. Can you try taking some natural probiotic pills? Or even yogurt? You need to replace the "good" bacteria.
Sorry you're so uncomfortable- I can't even imagine. I can't get my period without taking a week off, so having thrush must be horrendous.
You'll get better soon- peomise.

Phew!! I've been stressing about it all day waiting for something bad to happen!

I'm trying the yoghurt.. been using the treatment cream for about a week too and still no luck :(

Oh its a nightmare you wouldn't believe! And I get it so often its horrible, last had it about 3 months ago and was in the same mess as I am now!

Is there a suppository you could take? Kinda unpleasant but sometimes they help. Like Monostat?

Sounds awful! I had a really bad dose about a year ago - first one in ages. I took an oral tablet as well as a cream. I agree with the other ladies also - taking a probiotic which can come either as a tablet or something like Yakult (which surprisingly doesn't taste as horrible as it looks).

Another thing I found that helps is letting the area air. Although I know this conjours up the most unladylike images *LOL* Try going without your underwear even just around the house, and sitting in some rather unladylike positions even just for ten minutes at a time. The bacteria thrives in moist/warm, so letting some air get to the area really seems to help.

Sorry to hear this...I've only had one, when I was pregnant the first time...but once was enough!

I would call my pharmacist about the possible interaction issue, but only if you have to repeat the dose...otherwise you are obviously going to be fine.:)

Are you on any meds that might be encouraging the candida over growth...such as a low level anti-biotic? (acne meds?)

If so, you may want to talk to your doctor about things you can do to avoid future outbreaks.

Funny Lady... as silly ad your post sounds, thats exactly what I've been doing.. very much unladylike positions haha! Not thought of Yakult tho so will try and pick some of that up :)

Oh SC I wish I'd only had it once! Drives me up the wall! Not on any meds like that.. There must be a reason for me to be so prone to it though.. May have to go the docs and see if theres anythin I can do to prevent it in future!

Everyone is prone to something...an achilles heel so to speak I guess...

I used to get chronic UTI's...several a year!

My doctor mentioned, the last time I had one, that if I kept getting them...he was going to want to do testing to determine the cause...

Well that must have scare them/me off...because I've not had one since, and it's been years, LOL!!
