very worried about sister.

my little sister has some spots on her liver and had a biopsy done today. I spoke with my older sister tonight who used to be an oncology nurse. she went with her to an appointment the other day and looked at her lab work and is very concerned and worried that it's not good. I'm not quite sure how to process all of this. there's a small chance it could be some kind of infection but when your older sister cries telling you about its very scary. I need lots of prayers right now for my family. I'm not sure how I'll handle it all if it's not good news on Tuesday.I live about 2 hours away from all of them which sucks.

Do you know how the spots were found to begin with? Did she have indications that called for a CT, or other test?

Naturally you are scared...anyone would be.

However, know that more times than not these tests show false positives the first time around...and a retest or further investigating reveals nothing amiss.

Try to assume nothing and stay positive until you hear anything further...

...which I am hoping and sure will be good news.;)

As S.C. said, try not to have ideas about it yet, it can be something benign also.

Yes sc she has been having back and rib pain, had a ct. Her lab results arent good. Ugh her spleen is enlarged also.

Thank you guys. the problem is I don't know what to say to her. I asked her a few questions and she didn't want to answer them and said she was trying not to think about it. if I call her I'm afraid I'll say something wrong it's kind of uncomfortable

Oh, Hazel. Thinking of you and your family right now. This must be so hard for you. I wish I could tell you what to say to your sister. Maybe just call, let her know you are there for her and let her lead the conversation?

I may just leave her alone and let her spend some quiet time with her boys. she has a 10 year old and a 15 year old.

Yes it may be a good idea to give her some time. I am sure she knows that you think and care about her.

She knows you are there for her when she needs you...

When you talk, you will know the words to say...she is your sister!

I know that when my step-dad was going through his health issues...we just laughed a lot about silly things...;p
