The cardiologist I recently saw thinks that when I have a skipped beat (PVC, in my case) that I subconsciously start to panic and my heart rate increases. He says to not pay any attention to it. I think the more we just go on with our normal routine, the more we will bypass the increased heart rate part and just accept the skip. I'm still working on that part!
I get the light-headedness too, but I think it is from panic and breathing really shallow anticipating something bad to happen.
I also had a stress test and had a pvc during, I almost fell off the treadmill when I saw the big jump on the ekg, but they nurses were unphased as was my cardiologist. I asked him if it was ok that I had them during exercise and he said yes, no problem. So, anyway, that's my experience!
