Positive stories Lexapro or Effexor

I take Effexor, only 37.5mg as of now but will increase it on my next appt with my shrink. It helps some with anxiety, but I'm hoping with a increase for it to help even more. As I told you on another thread that I also take abilify so it's hard to say how much the effexor helps with my depression and how much of it is helped by the abilify. I however didn't have any side effects from starting the effexor which is a good thing.

I do really hope you find something that works, I hate to see anyone so depressed and crying all the time, it makes my heart bleed for you. Hope you are having a good day today.

Ah thats too bad, Like I said there are other mood stabilzers, so perhaps your insurance will cover one of the others.

I do think effexor is a good medicine, but many here I think are on lexapro, so others will post i'm sure. I've never taken lexapro but reading all the post about it I think it's probably good too.

I am on generic Effexor xr (my second time around) and I think it works pretty good for depression, but not quite as well for anxiety.

The first time I took it, it was the original Effexor XR and that seemed to be more effective than the generic so if your insurance covers the real deal than that is great. Worked great on depression and anxiety both.

I have never been on Lexapro, but it seems like a lot here have, so maybe someone will chime in about that.
