Hi all!
Just wondered what was your last job (paid work) and what did you do - highs and lows and if your not working any plans to return?

I cleaned houses. It was about 12 years ago, haven't worked since and no plans on going back to work. I filed for disability 7 years ago and was denied, didn't fight it. Then 3 years ago filed again, and still fighting it, hopefully it will come thru this time.

I'm an administrative assistant for an insurance company that I've been with for 18 years.

thats a great track record mysweetpanda longest period I was in employment was ten years in a large department store in Glasgow since then all my jobs have been shorter duration. I cleaned houses as well AngelLisa-It's great the folks you meet!

Dance teacher/choreographer...current.

I have approx 120 students at the moment...with a big Spring Recital coming up in May.

It is a crazy, fun, maddening and all around exciting job.

My 'pre' classes (under 5 yrs old, not yet in Kindergarten) are like trying to herd cats. ;p

It is 10 against 1...and guess who has to wave the white flag of defeat on getting anything constructive taught on some days?

That's when we break out the props, and just 'dance play'.

My upper division students challenge me in other ways...they are getting good...and I have to plan more an more intricate routines for them.

I could go on, but won't bore you...;p

I do love my job though...and am really lucky to be doing what I am passionate about. Grateful!

Interior designer for the last 8 years. I used to design weddings with my best friend/business partner. But after my bout with anxiety over the summer, she decided she couldn't "count on me", so we don't do them anymore. I never missed one wedding, even though I could barely leave my house. Unfortunately that's where 90% of our income came from, so I am looking for something to supplement.

Not good, lost a few jobs myself due to anxiety problems. You must miss that creative outlet your business brought (not to mention the money worries) hope you can find something else soon.

Hi

I used to be an outdoor sports instructor teaching things like rock climbing, skiing, windsurfing, mountain biking, sailing & kayaking. Unfortunately my mental health got to the stage where I decided to disclose to my employer to see if I could get some extra support. They took the line that this was a problem and ended my contract on medical grounds in 2010 and I have not worked since but I am just beginning to look into getting back into employment.

Think my favourite job ever was working as an usherette at the Pavillion Theatre in Glasgow -got to wear flamboyant costume and saw all the shows for free. The atmosphere was electric.
