Hi Oz and welcome back.:)
I applaud you for wanting to make healthy healthy changes for yourself! This is great news, and with some help and effort, I am confident you will do very well on reaching your goals!
Lessening your intake of alcohol and soda will not only help you lose weight...but is also an overall good step towards better health and anxiety management.
The Olanzapine that you.are on is known not only for being a challenge with weight gain, but for possibly raising blood sugar levels. Both alcohol and soda of course are just going to further drive this up...so your decision is extra import to follow through with.
You can simply try giving up the vices on your own...pick a start date, and write a commitment to yourself, and go for it. Making healthy swaps such as sugar free flavored waters and teas...and exercise will help keep you on track. Having an accountability factor such as having a workout buddy or posting your progress here would be further motivation to stick to things.
if you feel you need more help...especially if you feel you're addicted to alcohol, then talking to your doctor about starting a program for cessation would be a wise step.
I wish you the absolute best! Know that we support you here, and are always cheering you on.:)
Talk soon,
S.C.
