GG,
Park says you were on it for only a short time? How short is short? It often takes thirty days to see results. Remember, there are many different kinds of medication on the market for depression and anxiety. Maybe Zoloft isn't the one for you. For example, Welbutrin was not the one for me. It made me as mean as a snake and very short-tempered. The one I took prior to that made me want to sleep all the time.
I currently take a combination of anti-depression and anxiety medications. I take Sertraline (Zoloft) for my depression and Alprazolam (Xanax) for my anxiety.
I like the idea of seeking therapy for your issue(s). If you have to wait that long to get into see your PCP, perhaps you can call in advance and see if he/she can recommend a psychiatrist (not psychologist; they cannot write scripts) and you three can make it a team effort and get your medicine balanced.
