Hello everyone, sorry have been off of here for awhile and thought I was doing better but I guess not.Still having trouble with my throat and feeling uneasy.

This all started about 5 months ago,stressed about a paper I had written in school and then it hit me all of a sudden couldn't breath wasn't taking enough air in and they said it was chronic bronchitis and asthma. I have been scared to death this is going to happen again and now the burning sensation around my mid section and scratchy throat like something is in there.I am afraid to have a scope done because I will have a panic attack, I want to cry i feel so helpless.I'm sorry for just rambling on I just don't know what to do. I am 53 years old.Now that I think back I started having panic attacks in my early 20s.

Hi J.C. and welcome back,

Although I am sorry it is because of returning anxiety.:(

What, if anything helped you specifically last time get through this symptom?

Do you have coping skills that bring relief...or can you get in to talk with your doctor or therapist for guidance at this time?

We have self help at the top of the forum page here...perhaps the stress relieving exercises could be of help, or one of the meditations?

Thank you SC, I'm not sure it seemed like it was getting better on it's own,I guess I just thought it was.I am just glad you guys are here it means a lot. Is pain and burning sensations in stomach area part of anxiety?

...stomach problems can certainly be comorbid with anxiety...

You could try an over the counter acid reducer, or talk to your doctor about a PPI if it persists...

...and, of course the lifestyle changes that help...careful diet, exercise and stress reducing coping skills. :)

Sorry you are feeling the anxiety and it's effects again...but the good news is that since you had a nice reprieve previously...you can hope to get back to that good place again with some help and effort!
