Abx and anxiety are linked. Amoxicillin is one of the milder abx's I believe...but you may just have a sensitivity to it.

If it becomes unbearable, call your doctor and ask about an alternative.

Sorry about this...bad enough to be sick and need antibiotics, without them increasing your anxiety!

I found this doing a google search as I wasn't sure if they are related or not, but it looks like they can be.


"Anxiety symptoms are one of the lesser-known side effects. In certain people, antibiotics can cause symptoms that may mimic anxiety, such as dizziness or gastrointestinal side effects. In these cases, anxiety may be secondary to other side effects, instead of being a side effect on its own."

TMI...sorry, but it is giving me the runs and bad stomach cramps that sets my anxiety off. Of course my mind tells me that it's something bad and I will get sicker and sicker and not be able to make it to the doctor because I'm too dizzy. I'm on amoxicillin for a sinus infection by the way.

It can cause diarrhea, my doctor put it on my allergic list cause it gave me chronic diarrhea that last like for 4 or 5 months after I stopped taking it, it was miserable. Just remember to drink alot of water with the diarrhea.
