No medicine

Has anyone successfully managed their panic and anxiety without prescription meds? I really don't want to take prescription for a long time and would like to develop better coping skills.

I am fortunate enough to have had therapy be sufficient for treating my panic disorder.

I went through two rounds of CBT...

...and have done my own continuation of therapy skills through tons of reading/research on coping mechanisms and self help.

Being part of this community has been a big piece of my recovery as well!

This is of course only my experience. ..and every individual will vary in what they need to feel their best.

I say go with and accept whatever that is for YOU. Feeling well is what is most important. ..not at how you arrive at that place.:)

I went many, many years without any medication. I did okay until I had some serious medical issues come up. It kicked my PTSD into high gear, and I had to have some help with calming myself down.

I am moving forward with the issues which need repaired surgically, so I am hopeful that when I finish my physical recovery, I'll be able to wean off of the meds again.

Whatever you decide, we are here to encourage and support.
