What is going on with me?

Hello, I'm a newbie and it's about 3 am here in Florida. I just woke up with a rapid heart beat and my blood pressure machine was going crazy! I had an EKG about ten years ago and my then doctor told me I have an irregular heartbeat and wanted to put me on meds to regulate it...I decided to ignore that...fast forward to 1 year ago...I had a "fluttering" in my chest and thought I was having a heart attack but then after an EKG and a stress test and a Echocardiogram, all fine...blood pressure good and no irregular heartbeat...good, right? Well then what the heck is going on? I am debating having the nuclear test to check for blockages. I woke up tonight and my heart rate was elevated...my blood pressure machine read 217/112 and I could feel my heart speeding up and slowing down and the machine showed irregular heartbeat! I retook my blood pressure several times and it got down to 174/101 now as I type. To add to that, my ears have been constantly ringing for the past two months now...anybody dealing with this? I am not one to overreact but this woke me up out of a deep sleep. Also, are these $80 digital bp machines accurate? Shouldn't I be seeing stars at that bp? I'm a mess here....help?

Welcome to HW. Those machines are not accurate. My mother had one and it always gave wrong results. Best thing to do is go to your Dr. Bring your machine and have him or her use there's first and than yours. You'll. see it's not the same. Hope this helps :)
P.S. Make an appt with your Dr to go over your symptoms.
