I'm glad your session went well. It's great you felt a connection with the therapist.
As for the throat, I think that will subside as you relax into your relationship with her.
In the mean time, try the progressive muscle relaxation exercises. I lean my head back against the back of a chair or couch, and take a deep breaths in through my nose, and out through my mouth. Completely exhale, and even open your mouth wide when you do exhale if that helps. It reminds you that the passage is open, and you are okay.
I also chew gum if I'm out in public. It helps me remember that I'm swallowing fine, and gives me a motion to distract from thinking about it constantly.
