Switching from Paroxatine to Paxil Oral Suspension for TAPER

Hello everyone - Continuing my taper from the last three months (10 - 5 - 2.5mg) - Here is what I am planning and would like your advice.

I'm biting the bullet and just doing the liquid suspension to try to get off these last couple of mgs safely. (i'm down to 2.5 and have shaved off a bit with a razor so I'm not sure exactly where I'm at these last 2 days - 1.75??) Being that it's hard for me to figure out correctly the dosage I'm at, I ordered, and am getting the Paxil oral suspension - and will try it tomorrow for the first time. (total cost with Walgreens discount is 168.00 - well worth the cost if it helps make my taper to 0mg easier and more succinct).

My question is that being on the generic for so long, and switching to the name brand PAXIL - will this effect me negatively?

Also, what kind of syringe should I ask the pharmacist for?

Out of all the AD I have been on over the years I found Paroxatine by far the hardest to stop and did end up using the liquid version at the end and was taking a very small dose for a couple of weeks before stopping so I feel that is the best way to do it.

With regards to brand v generic the doctors will tell you they are exactly the same and that you should not notice any difference but I disagree with that and have found that there is a difference between brand and generic so I try and stick to whatever one I was prescribed. So if my doctor prescribes me the brand at the beginning I make sure she continues to prescribe the brand which means you sometimes have a fight on your hands as they like prescribing the generic as they are cheaper to produce.
