Dizzy and staying home.

I was going to go to town and get some errands done. I stopped to get gas and after I finished pumping my gas and started heading towards the store to pay I felt really dizzy, off balance. I didn't think I'd make it to the cashier. I got back to my vehicle and almost decided to just go home, but pushed ahead. Then I felt like I might have the runs and turned and went back home. Anyone else get dizzy a lot? I don't like this side effect at all.

Deb, I always ask myself how I know that this time it's anxiety and not something more serious and like S.C., I have to let me logical brain kick in and recall that this has happened to me so many times already, that it's much more likely that it's just stupid anxiety and not something serious.

S.C., I'm glad to know that I'm not the only one who can be affected by something as little as a shopping cart pulling in one direction!!

I get dizzy too!! I hate it! Sometimes it feels like I'm on the deck of a rolling ship! Other times it hits me out of the blue and suddenly the worlds tilts. Hate it!

I'm sorry! I didn't know this was a new symptom...

...I did not mean to make light of it...I know it's scary!

I am just used to it by now, and find that ignoring it...making jokes about helps me not to focus on it.

You may feel better running this by your doctor since this is a recent occurance...get your BP checked, look at your iron levels, ect...

...but try not to worry, this is also just a common anxiety symptom.

Try doing slow, deep breathing to correct the O2/CO2 levels in your blood...which is the most likely culprit here. (we tend to rapid shallow breathe when anxious, which causes the hyperventilation/dizzy symptoms)

What is the coping mechanism? Also it doesn't feel so much like dizzy, but more like a off balance feeling.
