Hey AK,
I'm sorry to hear you have a case of the blues. It's very common for someone who has had a lot of anxiety to end up in a little depression. That's how I've collected all of my depressions! ;)
My advice...
1. Go outside in the sun and get some exercise. I know this isn't the most fun thing, but it can really help with both anxiety and depression. Get that adrenaline released in a healthy way and get those endorphins pumping. Just remember to stay hydrated.
2. Take some vitamins that are said to help with depression, such as Vitamin B Complex (especially B9/folate and B12) and Omega-3s. Eating foods rich in these nutrients is also beneficial.
3. Do more things you enjoy. If you're having fun, it helps the brain get back on track. Laughter is the best medicine, after all. If you can get out and do a bunch of fun things, your attitude can adjust accordingly. Think positively!
4. Go to therapy. I won't say any more about this one because S.C. and the others are much better at recommending things like this. :)
5. If the depression is getting in the way of your daily life (i.e. you can't seem to enjoy anything, or you feel hopeless and can't shake it), please consider an anti-depressant that also helps with anxiety disorders. Of course medication isn't for everyone, but it works really well for me. In my opinion, sometimes you can't just talk it out in therapy when there is a chemical imbalance. I could be wrong, though. Some people swear by "mind over matter"!
Hopefully this is just a minor depressive episode and it will go away after you get some exercise, get some good nutrients into you, and have some fun.
I hope you feel better soon,
-Cat
