Have had a rough morning today... Didn't sleep, when I did get myself out of bed - had a panic attack which, for me, always involves dry heaving/throwing up stomach bile. Been dealing with this for months and am just so exhausted from it. I wish the Dr. would tell me it's something other than anxiety. I'm still early in on my SSRI - entering week 3. I think being able to sleep would help immensely...

I am really sorry you are having a bad day with the anxiety and panic.:( I know how challenging this can be...and just an awful way to start a new day!

How have you been doing with your coping skills? Any relief there? Practicing them several times a day, consistently will help with time. Would you like me to post any links with suggested exercises for you?

We understand what you are going through, and cheering you on in your recovery...so keep posting for support...we are here for you.:)

Thank you, SC. Yes, please. I would definitely try some more. I do try to do the "smell the roses, blow out the candles" breathing method and it helps sometimes.

Hey Jemr,

Just to give you a bit of hope..

I went from waking up every single day at 2:45am-4:00am every morning in panic to getting a full amount of sleep and waking up to little to no panic. I remember waking up thinking about all the worst things possible and then somehow my sleep was restored. I really hope that it works the same for you and that you continue to do your breathing in the morning when you wake up. Look up Claire Weekes "Hope and help for your nerves." This was a great book that helped me a lot with anxiety. Hope you find better sleep and I'll keep you in my prayers.

Shoot jemr...I'm sorry...out internet is not getting serviced until tomorrow...gggrrrrrrrr! I suspect they disconnected us when they were doing an install across the street for new neighbors. :/

So, for now...if you just go to the Resources at the top of the main forum page. ..you'll find loads of great self help material. ..just have a look through, and see what looks applicable to you.

Then if you'd like any further links, or areas of help, let me know, and I'll post them once I am on my PC again. (for some reason I can't figure out how to do it from my phone.)
