I'm sorry to hear you've been having trouble with anxiety and panic attacks. :( It's really scary when you feel like you can't breathe but trust me, you won't stop breathing and your body won't forget how to breathe. You have been breathing for your whole life without even thinking about it, because breathing is an automatic job that our body does naturally. That's why even when you're asleep, you still continue to breathe because it doesn't need to involve your active mind. Sometimes when you overthink it, and try to control your breathing rather than letting it happen naturally, you can make yourself think you aren't breathing properly and start worrying about it. I hyperventilate a lot when I am anxious, and it always helps me to focus on breathing slowly, in through my nose and out through my mouth.
