Anyone taking Tecta for acid reflex?

I have really bad heart burn everyday now to the point it burns my chest and throat. Dr gave me tecta 40mg and I took first dose this afternoon at 1:30pm and still have no relief. I'm in panic mode :(. How long before it starts to work??? I won't Google because it will make me panic more. Please help

Hi Bam,

Did you check k in with the GERD forum regarding this? I bet you could get some input there as well.

It may take some time for the meds to take effect. Even if they do stop new symptoms right away...

...it can take time for the existing irritation to heal.

I hope you get relief soon!

You should take it in the morning before you eat anything.

Meds like this don't act fast like an over the counter antacid does.
