I can't give any insight into the lexapro thing, but I know my emotions get very intense if I'm tired, anxious, or at certain points in my menstrual cycle.
Often tiredness makes me anxious, which sends me spiraling, thinking one mistake is the end of the world and I'll be scorned or abandoned by all my friends- it's so irrational that I look back and laugh on it now, but at the time, it seemed completely logical to cry and beg forgiveness for a minor infraction.
I don't know if any of this is helpful to you, but I just figured I'd tell you you're not alone with the intense emotions- I think anxiety has contributed to my overreactions at some point or another.
