Has anyone taken Trazodone?

Hi everyone,

My doctor prescribed Trazodone 50mg to help me fall and stay asleep. I have never taken it before and am a little scared of the potential side effects. Has anyone take this? If so, what was your experience with it? Thank you.

Hi

Yes I have taken this medication and it does help you sleep but it did leave me with a hangover feeling in the morning so I stopped taking it but it works wonders on getting you and keeping you asleep.

I have used it and it did work. You might want to try 25mg first though and start off slow. My doctor told me this is not addictive. I was up to 75mg when I really had insomnia, taking it every night for a few weeks, no problem with stopping it. Now I take it periodically to help me sleep. I did not have a hangover affect, but I have heard some do.

Thank you all for your responses. I did take it last night, and unfortunately, it went pretty terribly. I took one pill (50mg) at 3:00AM and I didn't feel drowsy at all. At 7:00AM, when I was still awake, I got up from the couch and felt really dizzy and lightheaded. Also, I had a really dry mouth. I didn't end up falling asleep until after 10:00AM and I don't even feel like I slept. Once again, I must have gotten very light sleep. When I got up, I felt even worse than when I don't get sleep, so I assume I have some type of hangover effect from the medication. I guess medications are different for everyone.

it did the same to me except it put me to sleep but the side effects are pretty bad
