My dads brother committed suicide a few days ago. The sheriff discovered him early this morning and relayed the message.

May he now find Peace,
for some this is not an easy thing to do.
This didnt come out like i ment it to, i ment the reason for his death was trouble
finding the peace he needed. Sorry

Oh Mama, I'm sorry. This must be so hard for your dad. How is he handling it? I recall you saying he had some issues of his own. Will this be a huge trigger for him? How are you handling it?

Larry, I truly believe in my heart that he has found peace in a place that he could not find here in the physical world. Thank you for your words.

My dad is... Okay... For lack of a better word. He seems more invested with the health issues with his dog than with the loss of his brother. I guess we all have our ways of coping. We're keeping a close eye on him because this could set off something in him to start using again. Like I was saying to Larry, I'm oddly at peace with the whole thing. He was in a dark place for a long time and was so lonely. It's heartbreaking but there's an overwhelming feeling of peace.

People have so many different opinions on suicide. I hate to sound as though I'm glorifying it, but I understand how you could be at peace. While we always hope that there is a better way to handle these types of things, sometimes people are in such pain that they want it all to end and I can see how you can at least take comfort in knowing he isn't suffering anymore.

I'll be thinking about you and your dad!
