hi rusty and welcome. sounds like some stress busting will really help you. coping skills are very important, mindfulness is excellent, meditation, music, walking, whatever works for you. I use a three pronged attack, coping skills, meds and therapy. the therapy is for old stuff, but for you it may just may be to learn new coping skills and have a mind dump. trust me, it helps. propose I say. once this anxiety is gone the better you will feel. I did it spur of the moment. due to utter shock I barely got an answer!!
meds, Xanax, excellent for severe anxiety and panic disorder. (prn) Lexapro excellent a/d and anti anxiety med. I use it. my research finds that Lexapro is best served as a longer term medication, but we are all individuals and doctors prescribe to each situation and person differently. Lexapro is a powerful med, to discontinue seems indifferent as your efficacy levels are built up at this stage, then you will need to do so again. check out the resources section of the anxiety forum, good stuff.
others will pop in with more info. welcome. see ya around the forum.
