Hey guys!
So after doing some research, I've come across this thing called globus sensation and it sounds like something I might have. I just want an opinion from somebody who might also have experienced this.
Globus sensation is have the feeling of something stuck in your throat or having your throat feel tight. It can be caused by a number of things- allergies, GERD, or anxiety. My problem is, I'm currently dealing with all those things right now. For almost this whole month I've been struggling with mucus in my throat and just recently when I don't feel the mucus I feel a tight throat. I've started taking Zyrtec for my allergies, I've been taking medicine for the GERD. (First it was Protonix, right now I'm taking Lansoprazole) I also started Lexapro for my anxiety/depression. I've been taking 5 mg and it will be for 1 week tomorrow. Tomorrow night I'm going to up the dose to 10mg. (I'm a little nervous for that.) I noticed that I've felt the tightness more since starting the Lexapro. It's hard to remember because I've felt a lot of different symptoms this month but I'm pretty sure I didn't start feeling that tightness until starting the Lexapro. Do you think it's just increased anxiety from starting this drug or could it be an allergy? The feeling comes and goes and also varies in severity.
