I hope so, I have not been able to work outside the house for years because of my anxiety/depression. I have done everything they want me to so now I wait. I wonder if it's harder for people with a mental illness to be approved?

Fingers crossed they're cooperative! You've certainly done your part, and now the ball is in their court. I know the waiting game is hard but use those coping skills and I'm sure the payoff will be rewarding!

In todays mail I finally receive my disability acceptance forms and I really had a lot of faith that I would be approved. Nope, I was denied confused It said that they decided that I would be able to hold down a job that required little concentration? Wow, I cannot believe it, I have been clinically depressed with anxiety and slight agoraphobia for over 15 years, fifteen years on meds. What happened? Is it just hard to get on disability with a mental health condition?

I am so sorry!! How awful...this makes me so upset!

Did you have your doctor's endorsement?

If not...get one from your GP/Pdoc...therapist...

...any and all health specialists that treat your anxiety.

Then resubmit a claim when you can. I am not sure if there is a wait time for resubmission, you'll need to check.

Hugs and sympathizing for the dissapointmentioned I know you are experiencing.

me too. I just received my rejection letter today saying that I the psych doc office said I did not follow up with further care after july. meanwhile, that doctor just discharged me and said follow up with your family dr who I have been seeing practically every week! and I have worked for almost 35 years! I am going to appeal. you should too. mental illness can be just as debilitating as physical illnesses.

Always appeal As many times as allowed. And unfortunately, your appeal is more likely to be successful if you are represented by an attorney familiar with disability law. (in the US)

I know how you feel, I'm currently workin : on an appeal myself. I just want to see if I get medicaid so I can seek help, because I have no means to seek help now. I'm currently going to a state funded facility but it hasn't helped, it took an year to see a doctor and it was through skype, it's truly unbelievable.

Just a note ... I am in Canada and my rejection letter said I have 90 days to appeal. You may want to check your paperwork to see if that applies to you. It's so frustrating. A friend said she appealed 3 times and the 3rd time with the assistance of a lawyer. My thoughts go out to those of you seeking help. CQ

I'd appeal. I live in the USA but part of my getting approved for disability was that my psychiatrist filled out a form saying I was incapable of working.
