Do inhalers work for anxiety breathing?

I learned recently my GPS has withheld info from me about a potential breathing issue, possibly asthma or COPD. I really, really, really don't want asthma as well as LPR; it's the end of my chances of getting my dream career if this turns out to be true. At the same time, I can't deny Ventolin helps me (lack of sleep and showers make me worse)! Can asthma inhalers help people who don't have asthma?

Also when hyperventilating, do you HAVE to have a racing heart/pins and needles?

I am sorry to hear this latest news. Was this some sort of oversight...? Are you thinking of filing a report against this doctor?

I can only answer the second part of your question. The first part is really only a question your medical care provider should be advising on. If you are no longer comfortabel consulting your GP (understandable) please find a new doctor ASAP...or at least for now, consult with your pharmacist...

As for the symptoms you describe with hyperventilation? Yes, those are typical, definitely.

I wish you the best...and hopefully, now that you have more information...you can move forward...find new doctors and get the answers you need.

Hi

I have Asthma and take two different inhalers.

As far as I know you should not take these type of inhalers if you don't have asthma but check with your doctor as they will be able to give you a definite answer on this.

I'm not sure if it's an oversight; to me it seems obvious just looking at my details that this appeared on an X-Ray. As for the symptoms, so the fact I'm not getting a racing heart etc means I'm not hyperventilating?

I can't say...only your doctor could determine what it happening with your breathing.

Did the doctor who ordered the x-rays go over them with you and admit the error...or is this something you are surmising?

I really suggest seeking another doctor, or possibly and allergist/asthma specialist to get your definitive dx.

After I went to A&E I was advised to immediately see a duty doctor at my local GP's surgery as a nurse finally said "It's not hyperventilation." The doctor I saw checked my history for breathing difficulties, found my previous X-Rays and showed the details to me. She at first thought the notes had been overlooked, but then admitted they could easily be spotted as they were highlighted.
