Did the doctor who ordered the x-rays go over them with you and admit the error...or is this something you are surmising?
I really suggest seeking another doctor, or possibly and allergist/asthma specialist to get your definitive dx.

After I went to A&E I was advised to immediately see a duty doctor at my local GP's surgery as a nurse finally said "It's not hyperventilation." The doctor I saw checked my history for breathing difficulties, found my previous X-Rays and showed the details to me. She at first thought the notes had been overlooked, but then admitted they could easily be spotted as they were highlighted.
