Here it goes again. I had a breast ultrasound done 4 months ago on a tiny lump which after biopsy was determined it was a fibroidadenoma. The doctor told me to come back in 6 months for a follow up ultrasound just to determine stability. I am 5 months pregnant now and I went back today (4 months later) for the follow up ultrasound and the doctor told me that the tiny fibroid has not changed in size but that my breast has changed so much (its like a new breast) and I have clusters of masses that he can't tell if its hormonal from the pregnancy or something else so he wants to do another biopsy of the entire area. I am really worried this could be BC. Could it be possible in 4 months that cancer can proliferate like this?


I have two weeks off from work and so excited and planned to do so much!! NOw its all gone and I am freaking out. Everytime I think of my beautiful daughter I start crying and having anxiety attacks, I dont want to leave her!

I am so sorry you are still dealing with these fears! Try to put it all in perspective by looking at it this way:

If you had not had the benign and common fibroid...

...you would not have had the call back for the US. The ultrasound is revealing what is surely hormonal changes normal in pregnacy that most women have.

The diffenence, is most pregnant women don't have ultra sounds during their gestations...

...so of course your doctor is noting the changes...and simply being proactive in this follow up!

I strongly believe you've nothing to worry about. You are going to be fine...and once you are done giving birth/nursing (if you so choose) that your breasts are going to return to normal...

...and you'll be able to put this worry behing you.

I pray to God you are right ScaredyCat. I have spent the day throwing up I am so naseauted. I keep looking at my daughter and crying. I am just relieved that i can get it biopsied tomorrow. I just cant believe in a matter of 4 months this could happen. It's so scary. The radiologist wasn't reassuring at all. He kept telling me he doenst know what he is looking at :(

Thank you guys thank God it came out to be benign...I'm so relieved but now scared since they didn't scan my entire breast just the area where my old fibroid was. It makes me think if I could have developed fibrosis in 4 months maybe my breasts also could have developed some type of malignancy :( also I guess that means I have dense breasts which increases my chances of BC in the future. My anxiety just never ends

Choose to concentrate on the positive aspects...and celebrate it!

Work on your health anxiety recovery now. Please do the self help...or if you need more intensive material...seek a therapist who can bring you through CBT, specifically for health anxiety.

Luv, the people who do the testing and treatment have seen thousands of women with your condition,
if they didnt see a reason to test further then take a deep breath, then resolve to just keep your annual
mammograms, Peace
