Pain and Bruising After Blood Draw?

Hi All,
Quick question. I had my blood drawn this morning and the lady who does it-- who is usually gentle and painless-- wrapped the tourniquet around my arm so tight, and when she was done taking my blood, I was sore and noticed immediate bruising. Now, more than five hours later, my whole arm is sore, and there's definite bruising. Any of you guys experience this before?

I bruise easily w blood draws. And the tourniquet being tight might have caused the soreness. I'm a 'hard stick' as well, so the nurses generally don't have the luxury of being gentle. All sounds normal.

Sorry that happened. Sounds as if the nurse/lab tech had an off day.:/

I have had bruising before...it is not unusual or reason for concern.

I hope your arm feels better soon.

This happens to me often when I get my blood drawn. No need to worry, although it is a bummer because it is unsightly and painful for awhile.

I bruise super easy in the first place... if I kneel on our wood floors, both of my knees get bruised!

Hi Blu

This has happened to me many times I find that some nurses are good at taking blood and some are not but even if it does bruise it does not last for long and no cause for concern.

I bruise almost always after blood draw. And my arm usually feels like it's beaten to pulp for a while afterwards xD
This is temporary and nothing serious, rest assured <3

Thank you all for your encouragement.
Feeling so much better today and not like I had lifted a 250lb weight with one arm.
