Didnt take BUsPar today

Just to see what would happen didn't take Buspar at 7am or 1 was so jittery at about 11 by 12 felt like all my anxiety hit me again by 1 took a Xanax chest has been hurting since my wife says its anxiety chest pain hmm I don't know.... try again tomorrow.

Since you were given a clean bill of health from your doctor's visit yesterday...

...I believe your wife is right about the chest pain being anxiety related...

Use your coping skills now to get you through this time.

Did your doctor give you the okay to go off the Buspar...

...and were you able to talk about alternatives?

I dont think you are stuck with the Buspar at all...

...I was just hoping that you were keeping the communication open with your doctor, so you can find the best management plan to help you!

You didn't seem happy with it...so an alternative should always be explored...so you are feeling your best.:)

I know it is frustrating. ..but you'll get there...keep up the efforts...it's worth it for recovery.

Let us know how the new med works when you start.

Hi

I always feel it is better to slowly reduce the dosage of any antidepressant over a couple of weeks in some cases months as you can get withdrawal side effects if stopped suddenly.

As I understand it, you have only taken buspar randomly for the last week or so. Buspar does not work properly in your system until about two weeks, and that's when it is taken on a schedule. The feelings that you are having are almost certainly NOT any withdrawl from the medication, it is more likely from anxiety.

Buspar does not work instantly like Xanax. You need to give it a couple weeks to build up in your system before it starts working. This is also true of most long term anxiety/anti depressant medications.

dont give up on buspar too soon. its a good med for those that respond to it. plus its non addictive and everything else except vistril is.xanax is wonderfully effective drug but is ment for short term use only. like suggested you need to take it reg at first . it works execellent for me.

Dan - do you take other meds too, or just BusPar? I have been thinking of trying BusPar. I agree xanax is great, when you really need it, but I won't use it much because I am concerned about addiction or withdrawal or building up tolerance.

Is it OK to drink when on BusPar? (I don't mean getting drunk -- just a couple of drinks at night)

I take buspar by its self. It works good for me. But just like every med out there, it doesn't work for everyone. But since there are few side effects and it's easy to get off, it might be worth a try for you.

I do drink on Buspar. Nothing crazy, but I definitely can handle a couple glasses of wine or hard cider without any adverse effects.

ok I am staying on it see how it goes my back been hurting a lot mainly end of day middle of back not sure if it is a side affect when I lay down its better no I don't drink with meds. to scared to try, to worried to try Xanax also with buspar
