And the are no antibiotics to take that won't interfere with celexa I am on. And I am big time I. Panic mode!!!

You've called your doctor about this?

If you doctor says it is safe, then take them!

It is about one risk vs. another...

Yes, maybe a website says there could be an 'interaction' with a certain abx...

...but it could simply mean that your A/D will temporarily be rendered less efficient.

This is WAY less of a risk than not taking it and getting sicker.

Please trust your doctor and follow his/ her instructions!

Look up Zithromax and celexa. Even pharmacy says I shouldn't take it.
This is not fair. I'm tired of panicking and worrying.

I went to see her today. We were looking at others antibiotics but the best ones is Zithromax and Biaxin and both are same family

I am sorry...very frustrating, especially since you are already feeling awful.

Can you ask if she can consult with a P-doc for suggestions? They would have a good idea of what abx and A/D work together.

Never thought about that. But I don't have a P-Doc and doubt they will give her that answer. This is just worse case Scenario if I have an ear infection. Cause I have fluid now and it's red in my ear. K
How come knowbody else responds here???

It's worth asking her! Professionals network! She may even have a friend who can help!

My suggestion: Call your doctor and ask him/her what antibiotic you can take that will address your infection but is also safe to take while on Celexa.

If the doctor says there is no antibiotic you can safely take while on Celexa, ask the doctor what you should do.

Sometimes, it takes polite persistence to get the answer you need.

Meanwhile. try to keep your cool (I know, easier said than done). This won't kill you.

there are many antibiotics for ear infections . if you can take penicillin something from that class should work. augmentin amoxicillin are 2 good ones for ear infections. best ask your dr and make shure they know about the conflict with celexa. what did you take first ? for the ear infection. it cant be that every antibiotic interacts with celexa. i admit i dont know anything about celexa but i really know antibiotics very well

I was on cefuroxime for 10days. She won't put me on ammoxcillian because it's lower than cefuroxime and won't work.

seems like your dr is doing the right things. but just because one antibiotic is older than another does not mean it wont work. i am not going to suggest what med you should take for this stubborn ear infection -your dr will figure this out for you. there is always antibiotics by iv also if it comes to that
