I have had a few poorly done stick and poke tattoos done with crappy ink, My WORST phobia is allergies and dying. (I have never had severe allergies) anyways. One of them is swollen and itchy!!? its one I have had over a year, and Im panicking like crazy thinking Im having a life threatening allergy. this happened a few months ago with another one I have, I am so scared though. can I have anaphylasis a year after a tattoo? help I am panicking so bad right now and dont want to be in the ER tonight if I dont have to be

Hi MK,

I believe that when allergies develop later, after an exposure that was previously non-reactive...that the reaction is gradual and mild. In other words, you are not going to have a serious or anaphylactic episode.

I would take some Benadryl for now, and make an appointment with your GP or dermatologist if it persists.

I hope you can get answers and relief soon.:)

Mam, i think your scratching and picking this old tat is the worst thing that is going to happen, keep
hands off, keep it clean, then go see a dermatologist. Peace

Try your best not to scratch them and I would go and see your GP to see what they suggest.
