Dog,
I know how you feel; anxiety is a nasty beast (one that I myself have yet to beat). My GP explained to me that anxiety can definitely be cyclical. Meaning, it can come and go in cycles based on life events, stressors, or for no reason at all; it's the nature of the beast so to speak.
It sounds at this point like you are panicking about panicking. This is part of anxiety; I do this all the time, but am working with my therapist to counteract those negative thoughts about panic with CBT. Do you have a therapist, or someone that you can talk to about your worries?
Often it is said that medications alone will not get rid of one's mental illness; they are a tool that helps the person learn coping skills so they can better manage their disorder. You said you have been working on your anxiety; so maybe it is a combination of your coping skills and the medication that is working for you!
As far as your last 5 days being good ones...take it and run with it! Be grateful that you had 5 days of relief from your symptoms!! If they do come back, you will know that feeling good is possible and the bad days do not last forever!!
Take care!!
