Hi All,

So I've been having a relapse of panic attacks with agoraphobia and derealization. I've been through this before but not for 16yrs. Things are very stressful as I graduate from nursing school in 3wks. Anywho, I've been taking 10mg of celexa for a little over 3wks and .5 mg of Xanax every 6 hrs, the problem is I feel like I'm still having breakthrough panic and still feel pretty crappy. I have an appt with my PCP this week and have been seeing a therapist, so I was just wondering if any of you have had experience with celexa, am I on too low of a dose? And the Xanax although does seem to help doesn't knock out the panic and today I've felt tired and my eyes have been heavy 3 or so hours after taking the Xanax. Any opinions about if Xanax, Ativan or klonopin have different effects and which ones seem to work the best? Also I hoped I would be feeling better by now, any advice would be greatly appreciated;)

I think that 10 to 20 mgs is a typical start up for the Celexa, so I would keep going until your planned increase time.

...but as I mentioned in the above link...I think maybe you should not be taking the Xanax every 6 hrs., but only during attacks, so as not to get into a dependency/tolerance issue.

Bringing up all of these concerns to your doctor this week at your upcoming appointment should help you to find the best management plan.

Hi

10mg of Celexa is a low dose so you may want to consider an increase speak with your doctor.
