Clonazepam

My understanding is that any of the benzodiazepine family can become addictive, although, using it, especially along with psychotherapy can be beneficial to get you through the rough stuff. I have taken a larger dose of Xanax for 40 years and was able to wean myself almost completely.

I would take it as your Dr. prescribes and discuss your concerns. Drs. don't tend to prescribe these medications unless they feel your need is worth the risk.

Taken short term, as needed (PRN) is preferable for benzodiazepines...

...but for starting out, and for periods of acute anxiety/symptoms, taking a regular dose will not likely cause an adverse effect on someone who does not have a pre-existing dependency/substance abuse issue...

...and can actually allow one to get to a place where, as Lucy mentioned, one can make progress in therapy/self help!
