Hello and welcome!
I am sorry to hear your son's Rx is not working out as you had hoped. This can be frustrating and disappointing when you are hoping for relief.
How long has your son been on the med? I ask, because it takes sometimes up to 10 +, weeks for a new medication to come fully to a therapeutic level...and for the undesired side effects to phase out.
If you have given it a fair enough trial...and are still seeking to have him wean, then I do recommend calling his doctor for guidance, and not going about
it on your own...for a safe and comfortable discontinuation.
If you can't get the appointment moved up....his doctor may be willing to give you a phone consult regarding the start of a weaning schedule.
As far as feeling his best during this process...self help is going to be key!

...and finally, as far as nutitionally/supplements that could help...yes, fish oil and other omegas...vitamin B, (for reducing discontinuation issues) and Melatonin and Valerian (for sleep) should be looked at. :)
Wishing your family the best! Post anytime...we understand, care, and support is key!
