it's a holiday and i think i should be having fun but i feel kind of lost. i'm also noticing crazy thoughts going through my head. i don't seem to be able to stop them, but i am trying to detach from them.
i get afraid of leaving the house. i am just not used to it. i spend my days off at home often, just playing on the computer and napping. work is a different thing, i guess i know i have to go, and so i just get on with it, but i have various compulsions that come in to play there.
anyway that's where i am today. i am supposed to go shopping and i know i will, but i feel afraid.

Hi OG,
Unstructured down time can be a huge challenge! You are not alone in this.
Routines give us a feeling of safety/reassurance. We know what to expect...and even if it means doing something we don't necessarily want to do, like going to work...
...when feeling anxious...familiarity is preferable to the unknown.
I hope you can use your positive mantras and prayer/other skills to help you enjoy your day off with no worries.:)

Worked 42 years at the same company, don't remember wanting to go in one time, but after i got there
i would work 10-12 hours, i never did understand why, i loved my job just didnt like being behind a ten
foot electric fence. Peace

had a very good time!
talked myself into feeling good and enjoying my outing. i actually like clothes shopping once i get into it. it's a bit of a challenge knowing what i like. After shopping I went to a favorite food place and got lunch to bring home - delicious. then took a nap.
thanks for your feedback.
