well, I finally did it.

After having the worst anxiety of my entire life for the past month, I finally got the courage to ask my doctor about a benzo. Both my therapist and psychologist father-in-law really recommended it, as the anxiety is debilitating at times. I'm trying buspirone for long-term treatment, but still waiting to see if it's the right medication for me (it's only been 2 weeks). I had a difficult day yesterday which culminated in a near panic attack and many tears. It finally gave me the courage to send a message to my doc to ask if an immediate-relief medication would be appropriate. I haven't heard back yet, so we'll see what she says. I had never taken any psych medication before the buspirone, and have never taken a bezo before, so I'm very nervous. But I also want to feel relief.

Fingers crossed I'm making the right choice - or at least that my doctor will put me on the right path!

Really happy you felt comfortable enough to ask for help--Sometimes that is one of the hardest hurdles to overcome.

That is fantastic!!!! I am like, sooooooooooooo envious! And by envious, I mean what most people mistakenly call "jealous." Of course any dunderhead or 6 year old imbecile child knows the difference between the two words, but that is neither here nor there.

I take Xanax .025 and I cut that in half it works great like instantly but only use it when you need it. Sometimes if your going through a rough patch you might take more or one everyday for a couple of days to get back on your feet. It's been around just as long as buspar and it's very addicting but if you use it right you will be fine..

Well done on asking for help Benzo's are by far the best medication for anxiety IMO so I hope they work well for you.
