My face is burning and itching, even my tongue and eyes a bit. It started a few days ago. I called the Dr. and the nurse said she didn't think it was related to the new med because yesterday I took the med at 10 and it started at 2. What else could it be?? I don't see any swelling and I can swallow ok although I just had some issue swallowing that I think was anxiety related. I feel so irritated because the nurses solution was to take some allergy med which I have not done. All I take is the ranitidine I have been on for 3 years and the beta blocker for my HBP that I started Saturday. Do I wait it out and pray nothing does swell up?? I guess I have to because the Dr. doesn't seem to care. I just took my med a few minutes ago but my face was already still itching and burning this morning.

Have you changed anything recently in your hygiene or product use?

Soap, shampoo, lotions/shaving cream, laundry detergent?

If not, this could be anxiety related. I have had the burning skin sensation before...and you are in a pretty acute state of anxiety currently, where new symptoms can pop up.

You might try continuing your self help, and do a watch and wait to see if this issue phases out...calling your doctor back if the problem gets worse or continues.

I just left them a message at the clinic. My lips and tongue is burning now too but still no swelling thankfully. I was wondering if it could be anxiety too but since I started this med my feet one day and my hands one day had burning also. My face had burned a little, then longer yesterday and then today it is worse. I haven't changed anything else, this is just since Saturday also. It hurts.

I would try an antihistamine for sure like the nurse suggested. If it's some sort of allergy presenting in a weird way, you'll know fairly quickly if you respond to the antihistamine.

Ive had the burning sensations face , lips, mouth inside, and various other parts... It was triggered by high anxiety state, once i knew this it settled down after a few days but comes back , but now i notice it first then sure enough later i feel anxius..

Sadly all related it does manifest in many ways the darn anxiety'

I hope you get relief soon.

Can you tell me how it felt? My eyes are burning and itchy now also. The nurse never called me back today and this is why I don't take meds. If the beta blockers are doing it, I am alone to deal with this and I am afraid.

I would be surprised if it was the Beta Blocker. I have never heard of this issue with them...and I actually looked it up, and it is not listed as an s/e.

...but it is suspicious that it started at the time you first took your med...

...hopefully you will get a call back tomorrow.
