Hi guys. I've been through some rough anxiety in my life over the past 18 years. The worst was about
2 months ago trying to switch meds. It's been 10 weeks on Paxil now and the past 2 weeks my anxiety has been almost non existent. The last few days tho I can feel it knocking on my like it's fighting to come back out full force. Can I just be having a little rough patch or do you think the Paxil isn't going to work after all? It started working at 8 weeks now week 10 idk what's happening. I don't want to fall back where I was 2 months ago or many times in the past. It's like knocking on my brain trying to break through making me think irrationally again and my breathing a little shallow when I feel anxious.
Also a big scare of mine is feeling like fuzzy, spacey in the head. Does anyone get this way and what causes it?! Thank you

Hi Wtfga,
Even once you find an effective medication that performs well for you...occasionally breakthrough anxiety is going to happen.
This will surely be temporary, and not set you back..
but rather just be a little hiccup along the road to recovery.
Use of coping skills will help get you back on track soon...so be sure to practice them daily.:)
Peace and progress,
S.C.

I'm not sure of coping skillls that work for me. I know sounds sad or awful but other than praying I need to find other coping methods. Deep breathing makes me worse I feel. How do you guys stop the fuzzy out of it spacey feeling and what causes that.

Can you try exercise, Iwant? Or therapy/counseling?
And feeling fuzzy/spaced out could be from a lot of things - anxiety, lack of sleep, medication side effect, etc. Do you associate it with anything specific?

Have a look at the links for depersonalization/derealization in the Resources.
Breathing exercises really do work to reverse physical symptoms. ..but many people struggle with them...saying it makes them feel more aware of the anxiety....
...so continued efforts and practice to push through these feelings and being able to master the breathing is key!

I think it's anxiety related the fuzzy head out of it feeling just wanlted to know if others get it. I have been suffering from insomnia for months now and maybe still adjusting to the Paxil. The spacey feelings in my head just scare me like I'm gonna black out while driving etc even tho I never have it's just scary and uncomfortable 😣

Sorry your suffering but try and persevere with the coping skills.... It took me a while to get into them but i told myself no pain no gain , it made my breathing worse at first but determination and alot of strength won over the fear and now its second nature , a favorite of mine besides positive mantra is guided meditation but it has to be the right voice and music but there are lot to go at so do give them a go.
The dizzy and spaced feeling was also common for me but once i realised it was the anxiety i carried on as normal as possible and it eventually subsided but if i gave into it and lay down it got worse so distraction was best for me.
I hope these few ideas work for you and practice them and you will get there x
