It's been a terrible week:( I restarted my Paxil and it's been rough. I'm bouncing back and forth between feeling better and wanting to go to the ER.
There are aches in my arms, shoulder's and back. I get the occasional chest pain.
It's been coming and going in all these areas over the past week and it's really spiking my anxiety...
I feel better when I'm lying down but it's not something I can do with the kids running around.
I just can't turn off this scanner I have. It's horrible and I keep thinking this is my chance to catch a pending heart attack and I'm wasting time not going to the ER.
My family keep telling me I'd be wasting time going there.
Shouldn't I feel a bit better if it were all just anxiety?
My aches are causing anxiety. I don't think my anxiety is causing the aches...
I'm really down about
it. I keep trying to convince myself I'm OK but I really don't believe it.

Hi PG,
There are probably a lot of reasons that are contributing to this rough time.
Your restart is likely a big factor. ..and may continue to be for a couple more weeks.
Also, the aches are triggering you, exacerbating the already challenging anxiety.
However...the good news is that the restart anxiety is temporary. ..
...and the aches are either tension related, or even if from a physical issue...most surely benign in nature.
Use your coping skills (and rescue med if you use one) to help get you through this spot!
We are here cheering you on!

Hey PG,
Your symptoms are exactly like mine.
I am new to this suffering (2years) just diagnosed with FM.
I am not on any medications but just spent Tuesday night
in the ER with heart attack-like symptoms. Anxiety attack they
said, and doctor there doubted the diagnosis of FM. Crazy situation
we are in. Hope your situation improves! Stay strong

Thanks S.C. it's so difficult to carry on like this. I feel completely down about
it.
HiNoon, I'm sorry to hear you feel the same :( By FM, do you mean fibromyalgia??
I'm beginning to wonder about
that myself..the aching in my joints is where it starts and then it spreads...
I'm suffering from running to the bathroom all day as well :( This may be from the Paxil though I think..
I need to go back to my doc I think...he'll need to give me a new script
for Paxil that isn't 2 years old. I just don't remember feeling so achy last time. It was more instant panic attacks than this dreadful achiness.
I'm currently at work and want to leave so badly..but then I feel ok and don't want to waste anymore sick days.

PG,
Ask your doctor about
possibly taking glucosamine for your joint pain when you go in for your appointment...
Use your positive mantras to help you with the negative thoughts and feelings. Tell yourself this is a temporary means to an end...and that you will be feeling better soon.
We are cheering you on friend,

Oh Panicg
I am so sorry there has not been any let up for you at this challenging time....I feel your pain , i was like that early October.... I really thought i would never come through it... but i did.
There could be numerous reasons for the aches and pains , and this is all fuelling the anxiety and your in a cycle , but you are strong enough to come through the other side.
Get to the doctor and get a fresh script
(do they work if they are 2 years old?) and a checkup.... for some peace of mind.
I really do think that the anxiety is getting unmanageable because of feeling so rubbish.... You are probably run down also as constant anx/stress really takes it out of you .. so your fighting both .
xx Thinking of you sending you lots of strength and love xx😘

Thanks S.C and Gilly. I had a pretty good afternoon where I felt no aches at all for awhile. It had me wondering what the heck happened! I even had energy when I got home from work and I did a bunch of stuff I put off on the weekend.
I'm still feeling OK. .just a strange burning sensation in my back, groin and chest...haven't had that before...wonder if it's the med? I'm also getting major hunger pangs every once in awhile..
Thanks so much for your comfort and encouragement!

I DO think a lot of it can be attributed to your re-start...
...so here's to feeling better soon, as you start to adjust and get to therapeutic levels!
Hang in there!

Thanks PG
Yes i am doing good thanks....😊 It is such a wonderful feeling when anxiety free.... Im not getting complacent though as i do feel as there is some background anx lurking ... lol ready to pounce in a vulnerable moment.... so i still do coping skills and meditation.
You keep up the good work , support is important , thats why i feel blessed finding this site.....
heres to more upbeat positive days ☺ xx
