How does anxiety effect your blood pressure?

I have major anxiety over my bp now since it spiked up last month. It was decent last night at 129/88 and today it is really bad at 152/104. Yikes. And I have to go to the Dentist this afternoon.

Do you guys see that kind of stress jump?

The spike could depend on what you are/were doing at the time. It can easily fluctuate. Anxiety is going to raise it as I feel anxiety in some likely results in a pounding heart. An obtuse comparison would be say an adrenaline rush but with the same result.

Personally, mine is higher when I'm having it taken, so I go to my happy place as I mentioned yesterday. It helps keep me calm while it's being taken.

Mine can easily jump 20-30 points...

Going to the dentist is surely the trigger for you today, so just accept that this is a temporary situation, and it will drop once your procedure is complete.

The waiting and trepidation would raise your BP... Did you ask for adrenaline free injection ? Hope you got it as it doesn't trigger more anxiety.
